Axinto provides integrated risk management and project solutions for organisations operating in difficult environments around the world.

We assist individuals and organisations travelling to or working in difficult environments. We develop and implement effective risk management, project and people solutions for our clients who include mining, construction, development, media and finance companies, the United Nations, government, military and humanitarian organisations. We achieve safe, secure and superior results in some of the toughest, hostile and complex locations on the planet.

Our approach focuses on understanding the operating environment and the local people and managing operational risk in a non-confronting, low-profile manner. Our specialists engage with communities as stakeholders and generate support in the most problematic environments.

Craig Coleman OAM, CSM

Principal Consultant

Specialising in Community and Stakeholder Engagement, Project Management and Support & Risk and Crisis Management.

Craig has more than 40 years’ experience working on complex assignments in Australia and around the world. I have wide-ranging and extensive executive and leadership experience in the management of organisations and the effective development and implementation of multi-dimensional and challenging projects in the defence, mining, construction, crisis response, humanitarian and public sectors.

Craig served for 25 years as a soldier and officer in the Australian Army. My military career included regimental, training, command, and administrative postings in Australia and operational service in Malaysia, Pakistan and Cambodia.

Since leaving the army, Craig has established and operated his own businesses and completed board, executive and senior management appointments.

Craig has directed projects funded by private corporations, Australian and foreign governments, military forces, the United Nations and global development organisations.

Craig specialises in identifying the underlying causes of risk and develops strategies that significantly reduce the likelihood of risk events occurring.

Craig’s expertise has been proven through achieving success where others have failed and in projects that others won’t attempt due to the risk profile or degree of difficulty. His focus is on reducing risk through the implementation of effective process, project, people and community solutions.

Craig adapts to diverse and challenging environments by engaging with people and becoming familiar with their ethnic, religious, cultural, and tribal systems and by gaining an understanding of the issues and motivations of various stakeholders. He uses this knowledge to develop and implement sustainable operations which incorporate local communities in planning, decision making, project implementation and dispute resolution.

Craig’s expertise in implementing successful project solutions has led to his advice being sought by political and industry leaders and speaking and presenting opportunities in Australia and overseas at the highest levels of defence, government, think-tanks, industry groups and the media.

Craig has been recognised for his leadership, meritorious service and dedication to duty through the awards of the Medal of the Order of Australia and the Conspicuous Service Medal.
